A BIT ABOUT THE GAL BEHIND THE CAMERA
Hello! I’m Theodora but you can call me Thea.
I’m a Dutch-Canadian photographer, visual artist, and writer who has come to call Scotland home. I have a broad art and design background alongside having completed extensive training in both commercial and fine art photography across North America and Europe. In 2018 I graduated from The Glasgow School of Art with a Master of Design in Photography and have worked full-time as a freelance photographer since.
My visual style is underpinned by a love for colour and creating images with a dreamy yet vibrant quality that shows the world and the beauty within it. Within my personal practice I primarily focus on exploring themes such as the natural world, notions of home and mental health.
In my spare time I love going on big or small adventures, sewing my own clothes, painting, listening to way too many true-crime podcasts for my own good, wild swimming, doing floristry, baking, making ceramics and going on picnics in the warmer months. I grew up near the Canadian Rockies so I feel most at home surrounded by mountains and I love any excuse to get out to the Scottish Highlands on my days off.
